Fellowship
On most third Sundays of the month at 10:45 AM, we gather for our monthly "Being at Peace" fellowship groups.
In the great Lutheran tradition of informal table talks, our monthly fellowship groups give us a chance to share with one another what we're learning about being at Peace.
These fellowship groups are one of the most important ways we build authentic Christian friendships in our village-sized congregation. It takes practice to learn how to talk about our faith, and these fellowship groups are a safe space to practice!
Though we all gather in the fellowship hall on third Sundays, we mostly have conversation with the eight to ten people who are sitting with us at our table (the tables are round).
Our wonderful Council leaders host a newcomers' table on third Sundays.
These groups serve as an incubator for various small group gatherings during the week.
We will gather for fellowship groups for the first time this program year on September 24 (and yes, we know that September 24 is not a third Sunday). We will be discussing the Gospel reading for the 9:30 AM service that day, Matthew 20:1-16, and Pastor Ryan's sermon, "God is so much better than fair!"
We also gather for various weekly and monthly groups.
The quilting group meets on Mondays at 9:00 AM in the fellowship hall.
Pastor David and Cheryl Alvord lead a Bible study on The Gospel of Matthew on Tuesdays at 9:30 AM.
The centering prayer group meets on Thursdays at 9:00 AM by Zoom.
The choir meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the sanctuary and sings on Sundays at the 9:30 AM service.
Mary's Circle, the women's Bible study, meets on second and fourth Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:30 AM in the church library.
The Social Justice group meets on the third Monday of the month at 10:30 AM in the church library.
Men's Pub Night meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM at either Uncle Sam's on 83rd Avenue or in the church library.
The Peaceful Readers Book Club meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 2:00 PM in the church library.
