Servanthood

The final step on our journey of discipleship is servanthood in the church, through the church, and in the world.

• Every quarter, the members and friends of our congregation sign up to serve at the 9:30 AM service as assisting ministers, readers, Communion ministers, or ushers.

• Many of us serve in the choir, the band, and other music groups on Sunday mornings.

• Some of our members and friends sign up to lead Godly Play for the children or to serve as godparents for the youth during the Gathering at 10:30 AM. Others sign up to serve coffee and refreshments at the Gathering for adults.

• About once a month we gather in the fellowship hall following the 9:30 AM service to pack rice and beans for the West Valley Community Food Pantry.

• Our pastoral assistants make monthly visits to those who are not able to make it to worship and formation on Sunday mornings.

• Once a month we host a drive-thru, drop-off food drive in our parking lot for the West Valley Community Food Pantry.

• Each spring we participate in a Habitat for Humanity build as a member congregation of the West Valley Lutheran Coalition for Habitat.
